Absolutely delicious toasted sandwich from the specials menu. Good coffee and wine. Great service. Fab views. And amazing cakes to take home!
Went in for Sunday breakfast. Mushrooms raw. All cold except for the baked beans. Eggs hard. Very disappointed. They did not charge for the breakfast which was a nice gesture.. But i would rather have had a nice breakfast.
Visited for afternoon tea. Got our drinks quite quickly, had to order a second drink as our scones didnt come before we'd finished our first drink. Second drink was sent out with gone off milk! They replaced it without an apology! Scones cane out with cream that was rock hard. We sent it back- only to have to wait 10 minutes for them to come back with more cream. By this time the scones were cold but we kept them as we were hungry, only to then find the second lot of cream was also off! We complained at the till on the way out to only be told "we'll we have been busy"!!
Great team room, well presented and excellent after a walk. Cream tea was warm and tiptree jam was lovely! Rest of menu looks great too.
This is a favourite place of mine to visit. I enjoy a good lunch here or, sometimes, a cream tea. It can get very busy but the staff are always pleasant and the food is worth the wait. There's seating inside and out; the outside tables give a good view over the river. I have no hesitation in recommending this tea room to anyone.
